Zettabyte: An EdTech and AI company
serving higher education

Founded in Singapore in 2016 by Chris Munier and Trang Nguyen, Zettabyte has developed a white-label SaaS management platform designed for higher education institutions and training centers.

Its ERP software centralizes all of an institution’s administrative and educational processes, from application management to certification, with a focus on user experience and intelligent automation of tasks.

Today, the company has over 500 clients, including many French educational institutions such as the EDH Group and Rocket School.

Our goal is to offer an intuitive platform that supports each user in their daily tasks. Tasks appear automatically based on each user’s priorities, whether they are a student, a teacher, or a member of the administration.

Chris Mugniez, Founder & CTO of Zettabyte

A strategic expansion project
to strengthen ties with European clients

Although the company was founded in Asia, 95% of its revenue comes from France.

Zettabyte is therefore opening its European center in Hauts-de-France today as part of its commitment to strengthening ties with its core market.

Zettabyte’s expansion into Lille addresses four strategic objectives:

This project is expected to create 25 skilled jobs over the next three years.

France is not only our primary market, it is also the ideal base for expanding our business across Europe. Our goal is to make ZettaByte one of the world leaders in the field of education solutions.

Chris Mugnier, Founder & CTO

Hauts-de-France, a strategic choice of location
for Zettabyte

Before arriving in France, Zettabyte considered four regions for the location of its European office:

  • Normandy,
  • the South of France,
  • Centre – Val de Loire
  • and Hauts-de-France.

🔎 6 steps to find the ideal locatoin for your investment project

For reasons of accessibility, the investors first visited Lille.

From their very first discussions with business leaders in Hauts-de-France, this location emerged as the clear choice.

In the end, they chose not to visit any other regions.

We had come to explore several regions. After a few days in Lille, we realized that the region checked all the boxes. We didn’t even pursue the other visits.

For Chris Mugnier, there are six key criteria:

But what appeals most of all to Chris Mugnier and Tran Nguyen are the people.

Not only the warm welcome and hospitality shown to the founders by the people of Lille, but also the support they received from local business figures, who were fully committed to the success of their project.

In Indonesia, people are a lot like the residents of Hauts-de-France. They are immediately hospitable and very friendly. When we arrived in Lille, we felt at home right away. That was a major factor in our decision.

Today, I have become an ambassador for Lille. I often talk about the region when I speak with international entrepreneurs and investors.

Support from the Invest in Hauts-de-France Network
An invaluable time-saver

With support from Business France Singapore, Zettabyte was put in touch with Nord France Invest in September 2025.

The expansion project then received coordinated support from NFI, Hello Lille, and EuraTechnologies in the following areas:

  • Exploring the regional ecosystem
  • Finding and visiting potential set-up sites
  • Connecting with the right partners
  • Administrative procedures (setting up the French entity, opening a bank account, etc.)
  • Recruitment
    Recruit easily in Hauts-de-France

In just one month and after two site visits, the company confirmed its decision to open its French office at EuraTechnologies.

It will subsequently join the acceleration program The Square, designed to support high-potential startups and tech companies.

We saved precious time. In just a few weeks, thanks to Nord France Invest and Hello Lille, we met the right people and secured the strategic contacts we needed to move forward quickly.

Chris Mugnier

EuraTechnologies, a regional IT hub

EuraTechnologies is a major center of excellence in Europe dedicated to digital technology, fostering the emergence of innovative tech projects in the region.

Originally based in Lille, this incubator and accelerator now has five campuses in the Hauts-de-France region: Lille Le Blan Lafont & Wenov, Roubaix, Saint-Quentin, and Willems.

The hub supports project leaders in their development across its seven areas of expertise, using a unique methodology and know-how, from the initial idea to international deployment:

  • Fintech/Insurtech
  • RetailTech/E-commerce
  • PropTech, Mobility & the Smart City
  • Agtech/Greentech
  • Edtech/HRtech
  • Industry, Robotics, and Spacetech
  • Cybersecurity

Its programs have already helped develop more than 1,300 projects, with a 91% survival rate over three years.

Chris Munier: The unconventional journey
of a French entrepreneur returning to invest in France

The story of Zettabyte is also the story of its founder.

Chris Munier trained as an engineer and spent much of his career in Southeast Asia.

After several entrepreneurial ventures in payment technologies and nearly twenty years with the Ingenico Group, he decided to launch Zettabyte in Singapore with his business partner, Trang Nguyen.

Although he is a permanent resident of Singapore, he has now chosen to invest in his home country.

It’s a little unusual: we often see French companies expanding internationally. We are taking the opposite path. I hope our journey can inspire other entrepreneurs.

Son ambition dépasse le simple développement commercial.

His ambition extends beyond mere business development.

Ultimately, Zettabyte also aims to develop training initiatives in Lille focused on careers in artificial intelligence to support the transformations in the labor market and the growing needs of businesses.

ZettaCamp :
A vision for AI training

Zettabyte’s expansion into the Hauts-de-France region is accompanied by a second initiative: the creation of ZettaCamp in Lille.

This training initiative aims to support industry transformations driven by artificial intelligence by equipping professionals seeking career transitions, job seekers and young talent with the skills needed to thrive in an economy increasingly shaped by AI.

AI will bring about a profound transformation of the job market. Many people will need to redefine themselves. We want to help equip them with the skills needed to seize these new opportunities.

While this project is still under development, Lille could become the testing ground for this initiative.

This is yet another example of Zettabyte’s commitment to playing an ongoing role in the economic and technological development of the Hauts-de-France region.

Hauts-de-France, a strategic gateway to Europe
for tech companies

For Chris Munier, the message to international investors is clear.

You have to come here, meet the entrepreneurs, discover the ecosystem, and get a feel for the energy of the region. For tech companies looking to expand in Europe, Hauts-de-France offers an outstanding environment.

With Zettabyte’s arrival, Hauts-de-France has once again demonstrated its ability to attract innovative international companies in the digital, EdTech, and artificial intelligence sectors.

This momentum reinforces the region’s position as one of Europe’s most attractive locations for technology investment projects.
