VELUX: THE CHOICE OF HAUTS-DE-France
since 1976

The Danish VKR group, better known as Velux, set up in Hauts-de-France in 1976.

A well-considered choice, which was guided by 3 major factors:

Satisfied with this location, the group regularly invests in its development.

In 2020, it became the sole distribution center for the French market.

This longevity is due to the Group’s strategic geographical location:

VELUX: NUMEROUS INVESTMENTS
IN THE HAUTS-DE-FRANCE REGION

Originally comprising 4 buildings (2 production, 1 administrative and 1 storage), the site now covers 30 ha, including 645,835 sq. ft. of buildings.

Discover the investments that have allowed Feuquières-en-Vimeu to become a major site for the Group, with a workforce of 340.

Construction of a glazing production building

1980

Construction of 7 buildings for wood joinery

95-98

Construction of a new site for glazing production and expansion of aluminum fittings production

2000

€21m investment to build a 96,874 sq. ft. distribution platform and modernize facilities

2012

€4m investment to modernize production (replacing lacquered wood-finish roof windows with white-painted roof windows)

2017

€4 million investment to expand the distribution center by 64,594 sq.ft.

2019

The Feuquières site has become the only distribution platform in France. Repatriation of part of the activity carried out in the Paris region, with the creation of 40 jobs
+ €4m investment to improve working conditions and energy performance

2020

€2m investment in a new glazing production line and the installation of photovoltaic panels

2022

€9m investment in two new lines: cutting and glazing assembly

2023

VELUX, A STAKEHOLDER OF THE TRANSITION
IN HAUTS-DE-FRANCE

In addition to modernizing and expanding its production facilities, VKR France has also invested in a proactive decarbonization policy.

These actions are part of a more global CSR policy, in line with the regional Rev3 dynamic and aimed at reducing:

  • 100% of its operational emissions
  • half the emissions of its value chain (scope 3)

All this through 3 main pillars:

  1. Products and services designed to limit their impact on the environment

AT THE 5TH HAUTS-DE-FRANCE INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT AWARDS

Every 3 years, Nord France Invest organizes an awards ceremony to highlight international companies that have made major investments in the region.

At the 5th edition, Velux won the Regional Loyalty Award. This award is given for one or more reinvestment projects in the region.

The group’s regular investments have allowed the Feuquières-en-Vimeu site to become the only distribution platform in France.
