After a global investment of €300M in five years, P&G is reinjecting €50M into its Amiens site. Read about the regional assets that convinced the leading multinational consumer goods company to invest even more in Hauts-de-France!

A €50M investment in Procter & Gamble Amiens

P&G’s CEO David Taylor announced at the recent Choose France Summit a new investment in Hauts-de-France. The €50 million investment, on top of the €300 million already invested in the plant over the past five years, further strengthens the multinational company’s deep-seated roots in the region.

This new investment will pave the way for:

  • a new production line using state-of-the-art technology
  • a new quality control and compliance laboratory for products
  • new environmentally-friendly improvements, Amiens plant is already a model of environmental leadership within the group, including greater energy efficiency and reduced plastic packaging

P&G plans an 8% increase in productivity with this new line by 2020, strengthening its foothold in the French, European, and African markets. The investment will add even more value to an already prosperous local industry.

30 new jobs are expected on site.

Why is Procter & Gamble betting on its Hauts-de-France plant?

“Since the beginning, Amiens has always been part of the company’s innovations, including soaps, individually-packaged products, and liquid laundry detergent. There is real expertise here,” says Tawfik Deifalla, site manager at Amiens.

P&G’s Amiens site sits at the crossroads of the group’s key markets: Germany, the United Kingdom, and France.
This strategy location naturally positions the Amiens site as a major logistics platform for France and Europe: reception and distribution of all P&G products throughout the country and export part of the production to 52 countries in the world.

P&G Amiens: P&G’s leading industrial plant in France and Europe

Located in Amiens since 1963, the site in Hauts-de-France is now a Center of Excellence for production and logistics.

Originally dedicated to the production of soap bars, the site has shown great capacity for adaptation to other products  like individually-packaged laundry detergent. As P&G’s largest plant in Europe and second largest worldwide, Amiens is a strategic site for the group, with more than 1,000 employees and 1,500 products.
