07 Oct 2014 | A region on the move, Mobility

Within a year of opening France’s largest order-picking center, Dispeo has signed a major contract with, a leader in European online retail.

Guaranteed next-day delivery

Dispeo, a 3SI Group subsidiary specializing in e-commerce logistics, has signed a ground-breaking partnership with, one of Europe’s leading online retailers. The two companies have signed a five-year contract, and Dispeo’s Lille Region warehouse has shipped 4 million packages a month since March for this demanding client. In 2015 the partners expect volume to reach 10 million packages, in addition to the 15 million Dispeo already handles for its sister companies in the 3SI Group. The deal is expected to create around 400 jobs over the long term.

“Dispeo already has everything we need to quickly meet our cost and delivery deadlines, said co-founder Thierry Petit, who stressed that the online retailer had abandoned plans for an in-house logistics operation in favor of Dispeo. In-stock items for next-day delivery in France and elsewhere will be picked within two hours.  And thanks to Dispeo’s location in Northern France, can easily cover major European markets and meet deadlines for delivery to customers in eight countries.

Customized process

Using a picking process developed especially for, Dispeo can directly incorporate selected items on the mechanical sorter, eliminating the stocking and picking stages. This new process sets apart from other online flash-sale retailers, sharply reduces handling and delivery time, and meets the special requirements of this type of merchant.

Supporting growth

With 2013 sales of €350 million, a 40% rise from 2012, has solidified its position as a major player in European online retail.

“Our 2014 sales target is €500 million, and to support that growth we need a solid partner in logistics¬—a partner that can handle our rising volumes, meet our non-stop demand for quality service for our brands and our members, and support our ambitious international growth, which will be an even greater priority this year. That’s why we chose Dispeo,” said Thierry Petit.
