Hauts-de-France health sector plans first “factory school”

Manufacturers in the Hauts-de-France health sector faced a challenge: with no specialized, hands-on training in place, it was difficult to find the qualified operating personnel they needed. Enter Eurasanté, the driving force behind a new plan to build a factory school—the first of its kind in Hauts-de-France, and only the fourth in the nation, after Paris, Lyon and Tours.

Working in partnership with IMT—an expert training institute for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and biotechnology industries—and with support from the Hauts-de-France regional government, the new school is taking shape. Its mission: provide initial training and continuing education to line supervisors, manufacturing technicians, manufacturing maintenance technicians and other specialized workers for the health sector.

The 1,000-sq m training facility will reproduce actual factory conditions, so students can learn to use manufacturing equipment in real-world situations, without forcing plants to interrupt their busy production schedules. Sources : Eurasanté – La Voix du Nord

The factory school will probably be located next to Eurasanté’s future Hub building. Courses for the first class of 150 students will begin in September 2018.
