Major expansion for Caterpillar Transmissions France

03 Jan 2013 | Investment, Mobility

Arras plant adds two new assembly lines

Heavy-equipment specialist Caterpillar is present in Northern France through Caterpillar Transmissions France and its plant in Arras. Built in 1998, the 5,400-sq m facility assembles, tests and paints transmissions used in construction machinery, and ships its output to other Caterpillar plants for installation in finished vehicles.

Work has now begun on a 3,400-sq m expansion that will add two assembly lines to the Arras plant. The first to produce new-design transmissions for Caterpillar articulated trucks, the lines will also feature an innovative new conveyor.

When completed, the expansion will contribute to long-term employment by creating an estimated 30 new jobs.

Nord France Invest has played an active role at every stage of the project, from initial discussions through deployment.
