    ASOS to open Lille office as part of international expansion

    ASOS - fashion - Euratechnologies - Lille Region

    British online fashion retailer ASOS plc announced January 28 that it would be opening a French subsidiary in Lille’s EuraTechnologies business park on March 1, 2013, creating some dozen jobs during the year.

    The Lille office will be responsible for raising the profile of ASOS in France, where the brand has had a French version of its website since 2010. Company headquarters in London will continue to handle purchasing. France is ASOS's third-largest market outside the UK (after Australia and the United States) and the largest in Europe after the UK.

    “Lille was an obvious choice for us,” says Gaële Wuilmet, Country Manager – France. “It’s renowned for its expertise in e-commerce, which is the focus of our new office. The EuraTechnologies site and its ecosystem will also be a terrific catalyst for growth.”

    Adds Jon Kamaluddin, International Director: “Our new office in France, which comes on the heels of our moves into Australia and the U.S.A., is a key step in our international expansion and marks a new chapter in ASOS's history. The link between Lille and London will give our company's increasing success in France a further boost.”
