Breeding ground for digital talent
Faced with rising demand for its post-production services, Grid—a digital media specialist with locations in Ghent and Brussels—was struggling to recruit new talent in its native Belgium. The solution: nearby Hauts-de-France. Grid’s third office will open in early 2018 in Greater Lille with a staff of five to ten, but is expected to expand rapidly to 30, thanks to a robust order book.
Strong digital ecosystem
Grid’s primary reason for choosing Hauts-de-France was our well-developed digital ecosystem, with its wide range of talent and expertise:
- Over 200 businesses
- World-class educational institutions such as Rubika, a specialist in animation and video games with schools in Valenciennes, France; Pune, India; and Montreal, Canada
- Over 3,000 students enrolled in programs for imaging careers
- 5 centers of excellence and innovation, including Pictanovo, La Serre Numérique and La Plaine Image
Global reach
Founded in Ghent in 1995, Grid specializes in post-production and is widely recognized for its animated films and special effects. The studio has contributed to major French and European productions including The Triplets of Belleville and Astérix: The Mansions of the Gods, as well as international films such as Ghost Rider and Black Sail.
