Verreries de Masnières purchased by Austria’s Stölzle

21 Feb 2014 | Investment, Advanced Materials

Stölzle Glass, a European producer of high-end packaging glass for perfumes, cosmetics, spirits and pharmaceuticals, has bought Verreries de Masnières from the Bormioli Rocco SpA group.

Verreries de Masnières, a glassworks producing high-end packaging for perfumes and cosmetics, is joining Austria’s Stölzle Glass—one of Europe’s leading producers of glass packaging for perfumes, cosmetics, spirits and pharmaceutical products.

Stölzle plans to invest €30 million to upgrade production lines, including €16 million in 2014 to rebuild a furnace.

The French company has been renamed Stoelzle Masnières. Its new link to an international player in the glass industry will bring many benefits, including planned transfer of production from Stölzle’s other European sites to France. Stölzle Glass will use the new acquisition to stake out new positions in the luxury glass market.

Stölzle Glass has five production sites in Europe, with eight furnaces, 39 production lines and three decoration/finishing units, all staffed by over 2,000 employees.
