Northerners promoted to leading auto industry positions

Automakers in Northern France—the country's no. 2 region for the automotive industry as a whole—have long been acknowledged for their expertise. Both Toyota and equipment-maker Toyota Boshoku have now shown their confidence in local leaders by naming two to senior positions.

Didier Leroy appointed to No. 2 level at Toyota

Japanese automaker Toyota has just made Didier Leroy part of Chairman Akio Toyoda’s inner circle, naming him one of six Executive Vice Presidents. Mr. Leroy, who heads the company's plant in Onnaing, is the first non-Japanese executive to be appointed to this elite group. He will be President of Toyota No. 1, overseeing R&D, manufacturing and sales operations for the North America, Europe and Africa regions; the Japan Sales Business Group; and Product Planning,  Design and Motorsports functions related to Toyota No. 1 regional scope. Before his promotion, he headed the group's Europe division. 

                 

Jean-Luc Hennebicq, Senior Vice President , Toyota Boshoku Europe

Jean-Luc Hennebicq joined Toyota Boshoku in 2010 as Executive Vice President of Toyota-Boshoku Somain, a Tier 1 automotive equipment manufacturer in Europe. He has now been named Senior Vice President at TBEU (Toyota Boshoku Europe) charged with safety, quality and manufacturing for Europe. Toyota Boshoku Somain currently has over 400 employees and produces seat frames, cabin air filters and roof headliners.
