New hiring incentive: zero employer contributions on salaries

Under a new measure to boost hiring and make SMEs more competitive, businesses can recoup up to 100% of employer contributions for new hires. Here’s how it works.

Who is eligible:

  • SMEs with under 250 employees

New program at a glance:

  • When your SME hires a qualifying candidate between January 18 and December 31, 2016, you’ll receive a €500 employer hiring bonus for each quarter during the first two years of the contract—€4000 in all.
  • The bonus applies to salaries of up to 130% of minimum wage, or a gross annual salary of €22,877 for a full-time contract.
  • The bonus can be combined with other incentives and subsidies.

Two concrete examples:

  • Effective January 18, 2016, when you hire a new minimum-wage employee, the French State will refund 100% of your employer contributions.
  • Effective January 18, 2016, when you hire a new employee at a gross monthly salary of €1,900, you save a total €527 (bonus and refund combined).
