Lille Region clip takes honors at La Rochelle

“Lille Region, the place to be” took first prize in its category at La Rochelle’s one-of-a-kind WebProgram-Festival, March 25-27.

THE FILM: IN A CLASS BY ITSELF

“Lille Region, the place to be”* has triumphed again, winning the “Prix du Public” in the Institutional Web category at La Rochelle’s 5th WebProgram-Festival. Competing against 21 other entries in the category, the promotional clip won by a wide margin, with over 200 votes — a strong turnout that underscored the broad appeal of a film with a character all its own. In the 5-minute version, it introduces international viewers to the spirit of Northern France — a land of entrepreneurial people who work hard but know how to have a good time. The shorter 2-minute version, specially adapted for the web, offers a glimpse of Lille Region’s authenticity and unique advantages. With 10,000 views on YouTube, “Lille Region, the place to be,” continues to attract attention, winning over more and more viewers.

THE FESTIVAL: IN TUNE WITH THE TIMES

Launched in 2010, La Rochelle’s WebProgram-Festival is the only international festival for creative content in French designed specifically for the web. Faced with the explosion of digital content and users, WebProgram Festival is carving out a niche by targeting the web’s boldest, most innovative creators. Contributions from around the world are welcome: the only requirement is that entries must be filmed, dubbed or subtitled in French.
