Coca-Cola’s Dunkirk plant to expand, adding 15 hectares and €7 million in investment

US beverage giant Coca-Cola has renewed its commitment to Northern France, announcing plans to expand its Socx plant south of Dunkirk. In 2013, the US business will acquire a 15-hectare plot to extend the facility—one of its top-performing sites in Europe—and will also invest an additional €7 million.

Coca-Cola Entreprise is no newcomer to the region, and last June received Nord France Invest’s international investment award for regional loyalty. Since its arrival in 1989, the company has invested a total of €170 million, including a €22.7 million program from 2009 to 2012 that made Socx Coca-Cola Entreprise’s biggest site in France and second-largest in Europe. Today the facility operates six production lines and employs 371 people producing the company’s iconic soft drinks.
