A wealth of opportunity in Hauts-de-France

At Nord France Invest, we work in partnership with regional acquisition professionals offering a wide range of services:

  • M&A specialists
  • law firms
  • accounting, audit and restructuring firms
  • banks
  • receivers

We begin by talking with you to define your objectives and your search criteria. Then we send an anonymous search profile to our network of partners to identify targets that meet your specifications.

If we find promising candidates, we put you in touch with the seller or its agent to sign an NDA. Nord France Invest does not participate in the negotiation process, but we can advise you and help you manage the overall transaction by:

  • providing information on the region and the target industry
  • connecting you with attorneys who can steer you towards the right legal arrangements
  • putting you in touch with local authorities to simplify formalities such as work, residence and building permits, as needed
  • helping you access government assistance if your project qualifies
  • helping you settle into the local community

Close-Up: Saica’s acquisition of Emin Leydier

Saica, a European leader in recycled paper, has been doing business in France since 1998. In 2018, the Spanish company bought the eight sites owned by French group Emin Leydier.

At the Hauts-de-France facility near Amiens, Saica launched a €40 million investment campaign to:

  • reorganize production flows within the plant,
  • build a storage facility,
  • boost production capacity through strategic equipment purchases, and
  • mount a massive training effort.

This sweeping effort saved jobs, enhanced skills profiles, and brought sustainability to a site that had been scaling down for 15 years. Without it, the plant would have been unable to meet the demands of a changing market and remain part of Saica.

With the local partner and the Hauts-de-France Region, Nord France Invest supported the effort to upgrade the site in multiple ways, including:

  • providing advice,
  • forging relationships between public and private partners,
  • tapping into business assistance programs
  • helping Saica settle into the local economy and community
